If they want to stop piracy, or at least slow it down, they should reduce the prices of CD's. They cost only a few pence to make, so could be sold for just a few pounds and still make lots of profit.

For one example I recently bought the new Lord Of the Rings The Two Towers extended edition DVD for £20, but some stores are selling it for £30...there is too much money being made on them, and they wonder why people pirate them.

Software is even worse; programs can cost hundreds of pounds to purchase, and most people cannot afford this, especially students, so piracy is the only answer.

I guess one can expect just about anything from "the land of the free"

I must add, feeling truly happy NOT living in U.S. of a mighty A.

Do some of you not realize this is a joke?

What gave it away for me was the quote by Strom Thurmond. He won't be saying anything any time soon, 'cause he's dead. My guess is this was intended by the author of the article to be a parody of gun-control laws.
