Default A plea to perfume wearers

If you must wear perfume, please keep in mind that there are people who are very allergic to fragrance. I just had to test a kid who's mother was wearing so much that you could smell her outside of a closed door! I had to be inside that room with her and her noxious odor. I now have a headache and am sick to my stomach. My coworker who is not allergic to perfume has been sneezing her head off and is sick to her stomach too.

Perfume was created so that people could mask body stench back when there wasn't soap and running water. If you have access to soap and running water, you really don't need anything else.

Maybe a lot of people don't realize that what they think makes them smell good actually is making people around them sick. I doubt anyone puts on perfume with the evil intent of activating allergies and asthma, but that's exactly what happens. So, if you wear perfume.... please think about that the next time you reach for it and keep it to a minimum.

On behalf of people with asthma and allergies, I thank you!

Becky

The rule with perfume is that that when you wear it you are not supposed to be able to smell it yourself.

I wear pefume. I think it is feminine. I stick to the above rule and I dont wear cheap garbage. By the way I do shower and bathe daily

I think that we should review this post again, because it is very important. Especially for the upcoming hot and humid summer.

I work with a woman who wears so much perfume that you can smell her through her office door sometimes, which is made out of steel because she works in our cash office! She wears Elizabeth Arden's Red Door which is soooo strong! It really makes me sick sometimes.

As for most perfumes, they don't bother me too much as long as they are subtle. I don't like strong musky scents or anything too flowery. I wear perfume on occasion, but not too often. I've had the same bottle for over a year now and it's not even half empty yet. When I do wear it though, I follow the same rule as Ann.

And Mouse, I know what you're saying...when it's hot and humid and the perfume changes smell and turns sour! YUCK!!!!!!!

Usually, what I do is just spray some nice smelling stuff on wet hair and let it dry naturally. That way, its not too much and I can hardly smell it myself, unless I spray too much on - then people near me can smell it until my hair dries.
