YOU tried to tell me that it is my fault that I don't get you BECAUSE English isn't my native language.

I say again, look up the meaning of several / some.. then you will see that in no way shape or form is that attempting to put down all Americans
I NEVER said that THAT (i.e. using the words "several" or "some") is attempting to put all of them down.

But using...

do Americans actually do history at school?

typical yank attitude

Consider it a history lesson, since a large number of people from a certain country seem to be lacking in historical knowledge

You are a perfect **** example of what Im talking about idiot, you just proved me right..

thats when most Americans probably think it started

exactly the same as I find Americans claiming they won the battle of britain and saved our arses (not just a few I assure you..) offensive and will stand up for it.
...is attempting this.

I admit you often stated that you did not want to bash on every American and you said more than once...

some; an amount that is not exact but is fewer than many
...yet, you also refer to them with MANY and every now and then fall back in generalizations, besides that, most of the time, you are evading the actual points one or another brought up to distract from the holes in your logic.

Im "evading" points that have nothing to do with the original topic, that way I cant (heh) be accused of aimlessly bashing yanks

Everybody makes generalizations here whether they want to or not. Americans are the only ones that get called "ignorant" for doing so, though.

And Goose, you did generalize in your statements.

You know, I think you speak better English than the British do!

Careful Goose, you might piss off more than one country in 2 days. I think that could be a record - historically speaking that is.

I reckon that this is how it works (in England anyway):

Children grow up surrounded by American movies. They see them so often that naturally they want to visit the place. They want to see cities with scores of skyscrapers (the UK has no city like this, not even London), they want to see the Grand Canyon, the want to go to Las Vegas, San Fancisco and Hollywood. In short, they want to see all of the places that have been glorified in all of the movies that they seen. They don't want to go to visit the people; the English are born with the knowledge that Americans are tw@ts.

It isn't until they go there that they realise that it is just a land of stupid people, bland buildings and car parks.

This is based on my experience, and the experience of others whom I have spoken to.

Bo Selecta.

Why keep in touch with people you don't like? Is it just to come here later and boast how great Britain is when compared to the United States? Otherwise I don't get it.
