Default a virus question

my screen is flickering every now and again as though theres a power surge and that never happens and my internet is running slower than steven hawkings even thought it's broadband so i'm starting to think it's got something.

I've got the same problem, but I have done a virus scan and its not infected. My guess maybe its a firewall or something slowing it down, or maybe a lot of the ISP's are slowing down because of anti virus measures.

there are a couple at the moment (namely the Blaster) which exploit different vulnerabilities (mainly in XP). the blaster exploits DCOM RPC which basically means that every time you log onto the internet the computer shuts down. your problem maybe just the simple fact that your processor is too slow.

not sure then mate. without having a look it's difficult to say because there's a number of factors which affect the speed.
