great vid andy.

so many nice guitars man.

i even think the white one he's been using on the current tour was looking pretty good.

although it's totally not my style, that jet black floyd with the 3 humbuckers looked great too and the handbuilt through neck was absolutely gorgeous.

gaz you manage tp get any acoustic recordings or dry county put up yet?

the vid also answer a question that was put up a while back on another thread, about the white one and what it said on the headstock, if you didnn;t catch it, it says sambora (which is what i thought). i really like the black one. never been keen on the neck thru thing.

i spoke to my luthier friend today and he's started on my new project. he's using an ash body with a maple neck with rosewood or ebony fretboard. just waiting on UPS to deliver me the other dimarzio then everything just needs putting together. can't wait. i've asked for the pickups to be split aswell. never had this done before, anyone here ever played something with split pickups?

Andy, how hard is it to put several parts together? When I buy body and stuff on Ebay?

it's not hard at all, i have made several guitars up out of bit's and pieces from ebay. but i don't have the equipment to cut and route a body and a neck (it's having a new speeloader on it, so the replacement necks you can buy don't really help me, and all the strat shape bodies i find are no good because the cavity for the pots is on the back and i'm not having a pickguard so the "swimming pool" routes are no good for me either.

well it's based roughly on richie's white floyd rose guitar (same transparent finish) with steve vai evolution pickups and a black spedloader. i did want a similar headtsock to the FR but obviously you have to be careful with copyrights and stuff so i've gone for something similar to a les paul crossed with an ovation. it's costing me £400, that's getting me a body and neck from scratch, a paint job and labour, not bad i don't think. he does various styles aswell, semi acoustics, full on shred machines, my double neck acoustic. and your obvious les paul and strat copies.

from what i could see they are the stock floyd rose pickups. this guys site is www.wyreriverguitars.co.uk, it's a real basic site but it's got his contact details on it.

can i ask you guys a question? what other sort of headstock shape would look good on the end of richie's white FR? ya see i'm having second thoughts about the les paul style, i'm thinking maybe a prs style? would love the Fr style but don't wanna get sued!
