i REALLY want to see pics of this mecca you speak of.

you not interested in picking up a g&l then? seems a shame you've got all those strats and not a legacy in there somewhere.

they're different animals imo.

chhh £800s steep for one.

not meaning they arent worth it but because alot of people don't know who or what they are they're resale value isn't that great.

my legacy i got for 280 bangers with hardcase from soundcontrol because the idiot thought it was just some sort of crap knock off like a peavey

my asat i got for 550 with case too and that was a special with what im sure is a fairly rare finish.

deals like that don't come across too often but they are definetely out there. there was one on ebay this week from a shop in the US selling an ASAT special for £340 with case minus shipping and any taxes youd have to pay....

i'm not sure the future mrs Jim Bon Jovi (if she even exists) would be so into the idea though :'-([/QUOTE]

Me and my girlfriend hve already agreed that when we get a house we're having another room for my music stuff. i had to agree to sharing it with a snake that she wants. i hate snakes but i'd padlock lock the little shit in it's tank. don't wanna be laying down my best ever solo and half way through a bloody great snake comes crawling up my leg.

As soon as its carpeted and painted i will post some pics for you.

I do ok money wise but i wouldnt class myself as rich. I have only ever bought decent guitars and i have never sold any of them. Guitars have always been my passion and i look at them as an investment. at the end of the day if i sold all my gear i wouldnt lose much money on any of it. Infact most of it would make money. Im not a pro musician or anything i am just a gear head.

I thought why save money in the bank when you can use it to invest in guitars, play them for a bit and then sell them for what you got them for?

Thats my opinion anyway

As far as g and l go i agree that they are a great guitar, very well made etc but they are not strats. Im not saying strats are any better or worse than them but to me a guitar is either a strat or not. I would probably go for one but its too close to a strat without being one. If you understand what i mean? dont think im saying there crap or anything though. If i bought one it would be a telecaster (i prefer there tele to fenders)

Ive always loved the strat as a guitar and a design icon and most of my collection consists of them.

As i said dont think im bashing g and l though. The one i tried had an ash body and kicked ass but i got an ash body strat instead.

Oh and that sambora video of his gear was great. Those sambora guitars look like crap (sorry). The "beater" looks awesome. i was dissapointed because he never really siad anything. Yeah he spoke but never actually said anything if you catch my drift.

Andy

Jim are your guitars the usa built ones or legacy (at least thats what i think there called)

Oh i forgot to mention i have some compensation money coming through soon about 10 grand so i might treat myelf to a custom shop strat. Still deciding on options etc. Theres a guy from one light burning (an american tribute band) who have actually played for bon jovi. He has a custom shop sambo strat so i might fancy one of them (do a search for one light burning)

Or norms rare guitars have a white sambora japanese strat similar to my gold one, i think he played this on the crush dvd they want 6000 USD

some nice guitars there. i love the nylon strung paisley but its not pratical.

I reckon that gibson l5 rocks
or the black sambora with rosewood neck and stars
or the anderson

the g&l's are both the US ones.

coincidentally theyre both dated to around november 1996. they didnt start making the tributes (korean builds) till a few years back.

i shop at sound control glasgow gaz but it was the 2nd hand section i just happened to come across a g&l in.

little side note. my bro runs gigs and got talking to a guitarist the other day. apparently this guys bass player has some sort of G&L but never gigs with it. the guy was so jealous when my bro told him i had 2 and he got to play them whenevr he wanted.
