One of my favourite richie solos is i believe a very simple and effective solo.

Its not about as many notes as you can as fast as you can, its more about knowing when not to play, thats more of a skill than playing scales all over the board.

Oh and jim, i quoted form the wromg post, but you get what i mean.

well only if you want everyone to nail the solo bang on as it is in the recording.

i think it could be much more interesting if we had the basis of the solo but you could work around it just like richie (and most other guitarists do) live

i mean how exactly are we going to differentiate if they're all the exact same?

Bed of roses is a good start. i will try to knock up a downloadable backing track, for you guys to solo over by the end of the week. there should be a good tab on the web.

I see your point Jim, but as soon as i heard the backing i think it would be difficult to restrain from slippimg into the original solo.

Does anyone have a suitable random backing track we could use. I cant find the one i solod over. I dont think people would mind what key it was in.

We could have say 2 months to practise and nail it if you like or i dont mind an immediate one. Its up to you guys

I can see it being a problem people recording stuff as its quite difficult to do. nd people shouldnt be judged onn the quality of there recording just the guitar playing.
