Oh, andy ash, i like your bed of roses attempt one little pointer i would give like a few other attempts is vibrato technique. Im not critisising (sp) anyone but i think the following may help peoples playing:

To me this is the way to tell a good guitarist. im not sure if you are using your fingers but i find it better to use the wrist, also by using your wrist i find it helps to keep your hand in the right place on the back of the neck. Try to rock your wrist back and forth with a little practice this should give you beter results.

As i said shakey vibrato is not good and im only trying to help.

Andy

It can be as easy or as difficult as you wanna make it. You can buy pickups on ebay that are already soldered to pots so all you'd have to do is wire it up to the output jack, you can get neck's that already have the machine heads fitted so no drilling needed there. just make sure you know your measurements. if you're looking to make a strat style guitar, the neck has to fit in the neck pocket as tightly as possible or else the strings aren't gonna line up porperly and could come off the fretboard when you're playing. it also affects how well the guitar resonates.

If you're not after anything special then i'd try and get everything from ebay, because warmoth can get expensive. if you can't find anything on ebay that you need then look at www.axesrus.co.uk or www.highlystrung.co.uk these have loads of parts, especially axesrus, they have everything from pickguard screws upto mid boost circuits and they do free postage.

in which part did you think the vibrato was shakey? you've got me all self conscious now. i thought i had pretty good vibrato technique, i'm not really fussed which way i do it, fingers, wrist or even the trem bar.

Mate it wasnt really directed at just you but a couple of others as wel its mainly the e and a strings at the beinning. And definately use your wrist for the best effect.
