I suppose it depends on your own point of view, but it's pretty sad that good television would be classed as drunken teenagers doing stupid things rather than sober teenagers doing good in the community.
I would suppose you missed the slightly sarcastic touch of Brooke's post.
Hehee...at least you caught it.

No I did spot it and hence why I posted what I did in response.

Hopefully we will reach a point in the future when intelligence and knowledge are once again treasured and rather than enduring senseless programming we are able to watch interesting, original television that is well crafted and thought provoking.

Sorry, but what you responded did not support what you're saying here.

There is such television, but you will have to search for it as it is well-hidden in the overall junk.

I don't want this to sound as an accusation, in fact it's a light remark but, well, I remember your posts on Big Brother and how you followed that programme... :P

In response to comments made here: doing stupid stuff, getting drunk and hounding after women is alot more fun than sitting studying, that's pretty much a certifiable fact wether you believe it contributes to the worsening of society is another matter

I used to have a slight interest in such shows, but over the past couple of years I have lost interest in them, after coming to the realisation that they are utter crap, lol.

I actually lived in one for 10 weeks when I went on exchange to an American college. I never pledged allegiance to the house so I was never actually allowed access to the inner sanctum...every sunday night I had to leave the house so they could do their brotherly rituals - I dunno what went down, and I really wasn't that interested to be honest. They had this thing called Hell Week when the new pledges were forced to endure all sorts of pain ie. no sleep, rotten food and all they could drink was beer. I heard a rumor that one of the things they had to do was eat a sandwhich full of the other brother's love juices - that was never confirmed or denied. The house I lived in was a filth hole, but they supplied me with copius amounts of free beer, wild parties etc... I actually enjoyed it to an extent, but preferred to go drinking in bars. I think the main reason they cause problems on U.S campuses is because of all the drinking - with the legal age being 21, the frat house is the only place the kids can go and drink - and 18/19 year old Americans can't handle their beer!! wouldn't have wanted to live in one permanently. I think the main reason people pledge is because of the increased job oppotunities, relatively cheap living costs, and FREE BEER.

Every fraternity and sorority is different at Uni. Some are known to do crazy things to its pledges, while others are more legit. For example, all I had to do was study the history of the sorority and pass a test to get in. Other than that, we did have to do some dumb things like dress like pumpkins and sing to some frat houses. It was just corny stuff, but as I have said, we also did a lot of community service too.

As for the frat houses, yes, that is where we went to party when we were underage and unable to get into a bar. Some houses are nicer than others though.
