Yes they are, but they're defending their style, like driving left, the subway, drinking tea (sorry I can't come up with better subjects, but you get my point I think) They do not blindly defend the system when it sucks, Americans defend Bush (for expample) and think he's great while about the entire rest of the world thinks he sucks.

hahahahahaha. Do you think I like Bush? I have never supported Bush and I am a democrat. I hate Bush and I am ready to get him the **** out of office.

You are the one who's generalizing now. I never said you liked Bush, but it's a proven fact that most Americans think the way Bush works is ok.

And if my memory serves me right, you were also one of the Americans who was pro Bush in the beginning but I might be wrong about that.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Indeed you are... I don't feel like he has been a good president, and hasn't. The only thing he has done good for this country is probably catching Saddam. Other than that, I really don't have much to say about him. Most American's do like Bush, those people are Republicans. Not too many democrats (Like me) like Bush.

I think we're all generalising here. I think each country to an extent does this. We can't just say that only the Americans do. I know enough Americans who also will do anything to get Bush out. It's ridiculous though that there is a constant attack, here on this board, on anything American. Yes, they do enough that be the butt of jokes but I think that each country has their stupidities. Maybe if everyone would stop taking everything so damn seriously we could all see the humour in certain posts!

Your right,I know... I knew it was for a big response. I just couldn't help myself. When it comes to the American bashing.....there is just so much of it on here. People do seem to be pretty friendly when you disagree though... i'll give ya that. I actually enjoy a good spat at times. I guess my love for my country is as deep as some others hatred I do feel disappointed that a lot of you feel the way you do though. This is mycountry and I am proud of it... I guess I had an impression that we were a liitle more liked cause we have done some good-a lot IMO. My sister in law's sister lives in London and she said the media blows up the anti-American sentiment over there...that a lot of people love the Americans..oh well, guess everyone can have their own opinion-that's what makes MANY of our countries so wonderful

If you love your country, then continue to do so. What difference does it make what others think?? It shouldn't change your feelings. There will always be differences of opinions and to be open to all of them is the best thing you can do. From that you can make an informed and well balanced discision.

yet another insightful, poigniant and useful post from the man who generated such great threads as "Jon's a racist and Jon thinks he's better than all of u"

now i'm not even going to bother piping in on this one except for to say that whenever i make comments about europe i get attacked from alot of angles even though alot of it's fairly tongue in cheek and even though alot of it is tongue in cheek but then its somehow alright for everyone to jump on america.

About Religion. You my friend just touched a very suttle subject. Religion is a great thing and you can't call America stupid because we have faith and a religion
Religion is the cause of most evil in the world - dont say people are - because those people are religious...
