Default Another Dog

Last week, two days in a row, I saw a puppy by the side of the road on my one of the routes I take to work. I had the urge to pick it up then. As I was coming home this afternoon, it was in the same place still. So, since it broke my heart to think of it starving and being out in the cold, I picked it up. It's black and white, female, looks like it's about 3 months old, part lab.

Just what I need... another dog! We only have 10 already. I took it to my family's business hoping that someone might want her. No one wants her yet. I had the idea to put up a sign that said, "Free Dog with Any Purchase While Supply Lasts." LOL

Sigh. So, now I have the stress of another dog and needing to find it a home. But I guess that's better than the stress of knowing that it's beside the road cold and starving.

Anyone want a dog?

I've GOT to stop paying attention to roadsides.

Becky

Becky, thank you..... You did a wonderful thing for that dog. The last thing you want is it to be killed or starved. I thank you... I have a soft heart for pets. You did a great deed and I respect it. Thank you.

Good for you Becky - I have gotten all my cats the same way - by being in the right place at the right time. My husband once said - and I quote "every cat I ever loved has found me when it needed me" Maybe this dog really needed you - and "found" you.

Great job Becky!
You are a great person.
I love dogs too...I'd like to have a bulldog but I'm out
all day long...it would be alone all day, and I have no garden...I wouldn't like to hold a dog closed the whole day in a lot waiting for his evening walk....

You did a good thing. I don't think you could have lived with yourself if something had happened to that puppy.

You're welcome... you want it?

The dog rides in the car very well and she's sweet. It was a long way from my where I got her to home and she didn't get sick or anything. She just laid down most of the time. She's got the kind of eyes that bore into your soul. If our other dogs would accept her, it would be great. But I don't think they will.

Oh Becky you're so wonderful. Is that what you want to hear?

I bet you wouldn't have done the same thing if it was someones pet goat.

You're right. I wouldn't pick up a goat. You see, goats can live in the wild because they'll eat just about anything. However, if it was young enough to be nursing still and abandoned, I would pick it up.
