your nearly right tash.......st patrick brought christianity to ireland...the snakes were a symbol of paganism and it was the pagans who were driven out...he also used the shamrock to explain the trinity....he died on the 17th march....and celebrating st patricks day is not just about drinking.....its also about our culture......besides....we irish dont need an excuse to go and get drunk

Maybe I should have paid more attention to my mother then when she was telling me about her home country!! At least I partially listened, that should please her!

On very few other days do u get a cool hat for drinking 5 pints of Guiness!!

Ha ha I have a nice collection of stuff from Guiness promotions, a hat, a drum, a little Lepricorn and this year Mum brought me back this guiness man with bendy arms and legs.
