It just didn't work good on me. I felt sick instead of feeling any better. But every person reacts in a different way. You have to try different things before you find what is best for you.

btw i wasnt sayign anti depressants are badin anyways they just to me at least seem like a quick fix. like sticking a dummy in a babies mouth.

People can only get out of that by helping themselves and havign people help them see things in a different light. drugs, illegal and legal just kinda skew reality for a short period of time.

which is important if the person points a gun to his head.

I disagree. One of the most despicable statments to make to someone suffering from depression is "to get over it" and "look at the bright side of light". That alone should be considered "assisted suicide". I have yet to meet someone who got better through therapy - but that is not to say it wouldn't work for some people. I just cannot imagine it and don't know anyone. Drugs rule!

I don't agree with that. Like I said, there is also a medical cause. I am not into drugs at all, but in this case, I just need the pills.
But only medicines is not a good solution. You'd better combine it with therapy and of course you have to work very hard to get yourself better.

if it works for you it works and having never needed to taker them im not exactly in a position of authority over it but yeah if your at your lowest ebb. it helps big time but as an ongoing thing it just makes you dependant on them just the same as you can become dependant on drink or drugs to relax or become more sociable.

There are pills that are addictive, that's true. Prozac for example is a very addictive drug. The pills I am taking are not addictive, but when I feel the time is right to stop, I will stop. It's always better to live your life without using any kind of medication or drugs.

that is why one should only take them if they really need them. It usually isn't about feeling a bit sad so you pop a pill. It is about being able to function and having a life.

fair enough. as i said, im lucky enough not to have had to take them so i don't really know where someone is at when they do need them so I'll bow out of this one.

Lots of people are sceptical or don't understand. But you just can't understand the feeling when you haven't experienced it yourself. And it is hard to explain.

I like this quote: It is about being able to function and having a life.
That says it all!
