As I said in another thread, I really don't like football, but I do enjoy all the excitement this causes (though not national leagues or anything, mainly because it's the same every year).

So I don't watch the matches (or maybe only minutes of them) but I do like the atmosphere!

I was just thinking today, while crossing the city on my bike, how funny this whole Euro 2004 is really. The center of town will be closed for cars tomorrow night over here, just to get people to watch tomorrow's game on big screens and stuff. It really made me think that this brings people together you know :P... The only times that ever happens over here, with closing down the center, is when some royalty either dies or decides to have their marriage over here !

Anyway - I'm sorry, but I'm not one of the people who's not interested... in fact I try to follow as much of the games as possible . Looking esp forward to the Holland - Czech Republic match, as we've got some rivalry over here with one Czech housemate !

there's nowt wrong with it. when they had the european cup final here a few years ago they shut down the city centre for cars and lifted the ban on drnking in the street. Everyone had a great time, both sets of fans who were over and people from here (myself included) who just wanted to experience it.

lol that just reminds me of a Bon Jovi concert in Shepherds Bush which I 'attended' in Amsterdam as well, as it was projected on a big screen... That was fun too! Can't see why football isn't fun that way - it's mostly about the people you're going with anyway !
