anyone watch the contender?

despite the obvious discrepency of Sly Stallone not actually being a real boxer and his knowledge of the sport extending to reading "how to act like a boxer who's never been in a ring in his life (with pictures)"

I think this is a pretty cool if somewhat brutal programme.

I don't hide the fact that i love boxing. i literally think that it is the epitomy of sport but this is mad. these dudes are getting contracts waved in front of them in turn making them go ****ing hardcore on each other. as far as the matches go it's brilliant but even I grimace at times.

who else watches sly help young men on their way to latter life brain troubles?

me. I do like boxing but I wish theywould wear cushioned helmets to protect them all the time.

those helmets hurt worse than being hit with the gloves themselves because it increases the impact area.

yup. you don't actually feel a whole lot with the gloves unless someone lands a really good solid punch but with the helmets on pretty much anything that lands hurts like a mofo.

I love that show! I am not a huge fan of boxing, but I have to admit that this show sucked me in. It is more about these men trying to make a better life for their families than anything else. I am totally rooting for Manfredo. Something about him just makes me think he is a hard working, down to earth guy.
