Sebastiaan, why do you have to be so negative about everything? If people want to do / say something, well just let them!!

And as far as I remember Peter never said anything at all about closing any forum, did he? It's not your board, you don't know what he's got in mind!

As for the donation... Peter hasn't said a word yet. So I'm waiting for that. How would the donation be done? Through what? I could give a little money, but I'm not rich and I'm currently in debt, but after all I'm using this board every day and it's only fair that I should contribute to keep it going

EDIT: I'm not doing this for the amount of posts (although that 15 thing is worrying when it comes to lazy days :P ). I don't care about going back to zero or whatever. I'm just doing it because I have a good time in here. Obviously I wouldn't die without this, but I must admit I like it here.

I am thinking of through Paypal or by any other means which is best for Peter.

Peter did mention closing down some forums to cut back on some of the posting.

Hi everyone,

due to recent problems with high JT server load, I'm forced to take some rather drastic measures to ensure future stability & normal operations:

- all posts will be deleted: by that we will completely clean currently HUGE Jovitalk database (everyone will start with 0 posts again). Many other forums are regularly purging their database and deleting old posts as well;

- to reduce unnecessary spamming and creation of several posts where one would be enough, a limit of max 15 posts per day will come into effect next week.

Hopefully these measures will help JT run more smoothly and without frequent outages experiened in recent days!

Thanks for listening,
Peter

No, it was a private discussion we had before the announcement.

First of all, Peter, how much traffic does JoviTalk create in a month? Second, I don't think you really need a 100£ to keep as small messageboard as this is running. I've got sites that are up and running with about 70€ per YEAR.

Third, everyone can cut down on the bandwidth use by scrapping images from signatures.

Fourth, I wouldn't mind if some of the forums would be cut.

Fifth, I think I'm done now.

Ice.

Sorry, it was me who said one hundred pound. That was just a suggestion. Whatever Peter needs, I will help out.

Ok, I didn't know that!

But as I said before one of the things that makes this board special is the variety. It's mainly about Bon Jovi, but then there's much more to it.
