If the majority of a country is made of up of a certain religion, if the leader is of a certain religion, if your principles and laws are based on a certain religion then the country is classed as based in that religion. USA is christian based and therefore seen as a christain country. Why do you think certain muslim countries dont accept the USA or anything to do with it ?

How big is the uK population?? 59.2 million in the UK. Hence 5% = 2.96 million people. That is a significant number of people that contribute to this country, both services, economy & taxes.

So do you feel we should integrate them into the multicultured society that we are - are leave them at arms length?

If they live here & contribute as much to this country as everyone else, why shouldn't they be catered for?

Why Richie because I want to spend the countries money on beds and books rather than religious diets !!!!!!!!! I would say the same for any other religious type of food diet being put in front of childerns need for books and ill patients needs for beds.

I feel we do try and intergrate them into the english society ,unfortunately a lot of the minorities do not want to be intergrated , they refuse to learn English, they will only allow their childern to go to mainly minority attended schools.

I dont see how your comments relate to whether they get halal meat at school , getting halal meat at school will make them feel more ingrated?
There are lots of people who diets and needs are not addressed in this country why are we suddenly addressing the need for halal meat over the need for books and hospital beds. The books and hospital beds would also be used by all childern from all walks of life.

How can each religion be independent or no centrally controlled religion when the US laws are based on christian religion? You dont see Muslims stoning there cheating wifes in US do you?
