spot on and with regards to the promoters cut. everything pretty much comes off of that ie the rider, promo, printing of the tickets, staff wages, security, permits, venue hire .... the list goes on. the promoter doesn't do anywhere near as well as it sounds (or should do) even for big named acts in large venues.
