Im so happy AVRIL LAVIGNE WON BEST NEW ARTIST AT MTV VMA LAST NIGHT.i missed her performance before show though going to try to catch this weekend

I like "Complicated" and heard the new one "Sk8r Boi" yesterday and it sounded pretty good too.

I only know one song of her but never would compare her to Alanis Morrisette since she can sing and Alanis Morissette isn't able to hold a tone. She's technically one of the worst singers I've ever heard.

I've heard her songs and yes there's talent but after watching her on the VMAs last nite....what is up with that attitude. I hate people who act ungrateful and "i could care less" at award show.

Someone oughta grab her by that tie and.....

Dear God, I hope that tie thing doesn't catch on as a fashion statement.

I do think pretty highly of Michelle Branch though. By far the most talented of that bunch.

Too late Mr sambo the tie thing has already caught on.The attitude thing just came up I think with her image she is seventeen and trying to attract teenagers away from britney and christiana without taking her clothes off. she was on trl saying how she knew some people made fun of getting an award but she just appreciated getting nominated and being at mtv.she said at least when she wasnt famous and sitting around she could say Hey i was nominated once.I admit some of her stuff she does is childish but we all grow out of it.
Now Sambo Chris I didnt want to get that mean.yeah but personally morrisette dont cut it for me either.

And what is so bad about the way Britney and Christina dress ?

Its kind of like the whole grunge thing that took away the sexiness and fun out of the 80s metal scene.

She might say its to dress with integrity but the truth is ITS JUST ANOTHER conscience image fabricated to sell albums by opposing thats popular.

I love Avril's music although I've only heard two songs so far, but they rock! She's really talented and I think we'll hear a lot more from her. Can't wait to buy her album... She's the best teen singer out there!

About bloody time a female singer with some talent came along again, but refreshingly without all the Mariah Carey/Britney Spears antics of totally flaunting themselves with their music!

Avril can definitely sing, her songs are about real life stuff and not all lovey crap. Go Avril, you are the next ROCK CHICK!

BTW, the best songs on her album are Complicated, I'm With You and Losing Grip. Can't wait til she comes to Oz, man I'm there!!
