I just got the Losing Grip single by Avril, i know i'm gonna cop a bit for that but she is one of the better new talents going around at the moment. Here is a quote from another fan, which is what I happen to agree with;

So I went to an Avril Lavigne concert a few weeks ago – and before you laugh at me, let me just say that I am not ashamed to dig Avril Lavigne. I am not ashamed that I spent 35 dollars to see Miss Lavigne run across the stage and sing about how her life is so complicated. I am not ashamed to like a Canadian.

Avrilutionaries like myself are being chastised the world over for supporting a girl who is supposedly no less of a corporate concoction than Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera. But does anybody truly care whether Avril is brought to you by McDonalds? They shouldn’t.

Avril Lavigne deserves respect for two reasons: 1) She can sing. 2) She’s not a slut.

Avril doesn’t lip-sync. Britney’s concerts are built around her inability to sing live.

And while we don’t really know whether or not Britney and Christina are actual sluts, there is irrefutable photographic evidence that these two girls definitely dress like sluts. It’s hard to take them seriously when they’re practically naked. Avril is definitely not a slut, and doesn’t even come close to looking like a slut because she wears a tie. My dad wears a tie and he is not a slut. So….

Avril is well hot id happily pay 35 to see her. And her music kicks ass to which is always a bonus :P

She sounds terrible live. I will argue that while Britney can't sing a tune, Christina has a much better voice than Avril.

she'd be even better if she dressed like Christina

her albums pretty decent and i like the whole production on it though she totally murdered knockin on heavens door and chop suey.

live ive not made my mind up. shes not bad but she definetely doesn't come anywhere near what she does on the cd.

the avril CD rocks. and the songwriting isn't just awful like some people think. The times i've heard her live she hasn't impressed me, but at least she used live music and no recorded vocals or no drum loops or anything.

What annoys me about her though is that she thinks she can sing so well live. She is always commenting about how she LOVES touring and such, but meanwhile she needs some voice lessons before she hits the road. They were ripping her apart on K-Rock (local radio station) the other day, due to a live performance they saw of Avril. They were saying how terrible she was.
