what I do at backstage is add a point of view that is totally different to 90% of the views posted there.

Actually its quite interesting that anyone has views that go against the status quo of backstage are branded in such ways

THAT Mongoose is still here but the more and more you see comments like that it changes your attitudes...

it's not nice to think that when you go to a concert usually the only people who are fans of the music comes to a small percentage relative to those who know a few songs or go because they fancy Jon...

Backstage should be dismembered and slowly tortured and disposed of

You know it's quite possible for someone to enjoy the music AND "fancy" Jon as you put it. Some people enjoy the music AND fancy Richie, Dave, Tico, or Hugh too.

I think some guys just have a problem with being a fan of a band that has so many female fans. Maybe it makes them feel threatened or insecure about their own manhood or something. Maybe they think there's something wrong with them for liking a girly-band. So instead of just accepting that women can appreciate the music, it's easier to take a superior attitude and act like the women are in it just for the looks and don't have a clue about the music.

I enjoy the Backstage board. Anyone who thinks that everyone over there always agrees and just follows a blind path hasn't been over there. The thread Mongoose is discussing over here has a lot of women disagreeing about the appropriateness of touching Jon when he's at the fan pits. Hmm, image that. Some WOMEN see Jon as someone who deserves respect and not to be objectified.

then there not giving their whole attention to the music are they at a concert when they are screaming like teenagers (sometimes are, sometimes 30-40 year olds)... in which case they are not enjoying the music that much since they are not listening to it or concentrating on it... and in making so much noise are stopping other people from listening
