It's still a sweeping statement about them! It's the same as going on about Opus Dei, who is an extremist group with Catholism or Orthodox Jews. If she wanted to speak out about ritual slaughtering (that I also don't agree with) she could have done so without technically naming any groups. I'm sure there are a few who don't partake in the slaughtering, so then it is a generalising statement.
