For the people who have chosen Kerry, I am just curious as to what you think of his policies. The reason I ask is because he also voted in favor of the War on Iraq, so I know that can't be the reason.

Quote From Kerry:

Kerry conceded that some our allies might not fully understand or be worried about the danger posed by Saddam. "We must not presume that these conclusions automatically will be accepted by every one of our allies, some of which have different interests both in the region and elsewhere, or will be of the same degree of concern to them that they are to the U.S."
But be that as it may, Kerry argued that even if our key allies should lack resolve in dealing with Saddam, the U.S. should be decisive. "Should the resolve of our allies wane to pursue this matter until an acceptable inspection process has been reinstituted...the United States must not lose its resolve to take action."

What other issues of Kerry's do you find more appealing?

From the U.S. voting for Bush

Although I do respect Kery's service in Vietnam,I Think he has flipped to much on issues. No,Bush isn't perfect, but I agree with most of what he does. The only thing I wish Bush would cut back is spending, but then that's Congress too. My husband and I just got back the biggest tax return we have ever recieved which is about to put us in a house-finally. There are also a couple of issues I stand firm on and Kerry and most Democrats usually don't. Kerry's being in the war and recieving 3 purple hearts has now been shoved down our throats as if he is the only one that was over there. I had my father in law over here for dinner last week and he was over there for 1 year and does not like Kerry. He sat there for 8 more months and said as well that it apparently doesn't take much to recieve a purple heart. You could get minor injuries 3 times and get to go home. Again,I respect Kery's service, but him using it is no differrent than Bush putting 9-11 snippets in his re-election ads. I don't have a problem with either, but don't ram it down our throats.

In theory that's a good thing, but the problem is that he's going to take away votes from Kerry. US political, basically two party system is bad to begin with, but when the independent candidates, like Nader want to get votes just to look good it goes badly wrong. It's not like Nader has a chance to win. If there would be an equal opportunity for all the candidates it would be good, but again, money talks. So Nader just wants to **** with the system. It's a nive gesture, but the democrats lost once because of him. You have to remember that Bush didn't win the election...

Ice, Bush won the election. If we counted the popular vote, he would not have won, but we don't. We go by electoral votes, therefore Bush won fair and square.

BTW, Nader didn't contribute to Gore losing. If Gore was a strong enough candidate, Nader wouldn't have even been a factor.

it's true that if Gore would have been strong enough, Nader would not have been a problem. but it is also a fact that at least 80% of the people voting for Nader would have voted for Gore if there were only Gore and Bush. and with these extra votes, Gore would have won many states and would have easily (!) won the elections.

Yep, I know. Electoral voting is dated, another bad thing about the presidental elections in the US.

Anyway, if Nader hadn't run, Gore would've gotten even more votes and would've won.

Funny thing, I have seen Nader on at least 2 talk shows saying that he believes Republicans vote for him too. Brings a whole new light onto this. I personally don't think many would vote for him,but he was fairly insistent on it.
