Well, with me it depends but if I am down getting alcohol is the worst thing to do. But other than that alcohol never clouded my judgement or made me do stupid things. With guys (many of them) if they are depressed / under pressure when they drink they get agressive and women usually get clingy.

Hah! I had two quite 'painful' breakups in the last 4 years. One got me into red wines. The other one got me into scotch Hahah...both are hobbies of mine now (in a positive sense, don't really overdo them anymore). And wouldn't have happened without either of those girls. The red wine one I still see regularly. She's cool. We're cool. The scotch one I still miss. A lot. But hey, it is what it is. Life goes on...and you do something else. I just hope that next one won't turn me into a heroin user or something silly like that

And you know what's funny - I wrote this while incidentally, the Gaslight Anthem is playing in the background. Here's Looking at You Kid.

Don't worry before heroin there are mushrooms, Special K and coke we don't need to exaggerate (joking).
As long as you can reflect, it shouldn't be a problem?! And we all need hobbies, don't we ?

I was in your shoes a year ago, the only good thing about it was I managed to lose a shit load of weight from living off vodka diet redbull! Pandas right though, it might make your problems go away for a few hours but they're still there in the morning with a nasty hangover!

I had really good mates to get me though it, times the best healer though. You kinda look at everything through rosé tinted glasses, thinking everything was perfect when it really wasn't. I can look back now and see they weren't right for me at all. Even though last summer hurt like mad I'm glad it happened as I'm now with someone who's 10x the person than my ex was.

It will get easier, just make sure she's deleted from your phone, FB and whatever else. Good luck!!
