It is true. The reason you don't "just get trashed" over there I think is because they introduce alcohol at a young age. When I was little, my Italian grandparents allowed me to have a little (tiny) glass of Anisette (sp.) or wine. I never was curious about alcohol because it was never off limits to me.

Therefore I was never caught stealing from the liquor cabinet or anything.

Actually, I am not sure.

It is on the side of my family that I don't talk too, so it has always been a mystery.

I don't ever go in McDonalds, but I doubt they sell it in ours.

I wouldn't really care if they did, I think that spending money on alcohol is a waste of money. It rots your kidneys and your liver, it kills brain cells, and it will quite probably come out of you from the same end it went in. Also, after a heavy night of drinking, you probably won't remember much of it, and you will wake up with an excrutiating headache.

Most of my friends go out drinking, just for the sake of it, but I just never have, and never will.

My idea of a good time would be going to see a movie with friends, probably during the day, too crowded at night, and then just hang out with them and talk, and maybe listen to music or something. It's cheap, doesn't rot any part of you, and you will remember it the next day.

I used to think like you. I couldn't see why some of my friends liked to go out and get drunk. How could it be possibly be fun?

Then I went to Germany for a week on a school trip. Tequile was DM 10 for ten shots. I had a few and started to feel merry and happy, so I had a few more. It was then that I understood why people drink. Don't knock it until you've tried it. The first few times you get drunk will be some of the best. You have lots of fun when you are drunk (and you can do things that you probably wouldn't get away with otherwise).
