It depends on the reason why you break up. When you break up because you're always fighting...well... (It's Hard) Letting You Go will not be the right song for it I think. I don't think IHLYG is about a break up actually, it sounds more like a song for a funeral.

If you both agree with the reason why you break up Hearts Breaking Even is a good song, though most of the time that ain't true. Most of the time it's one person who wants to make that decision. So then it will be Damned, or Lie To Me. Hmmm...how surprising...it's all from the These Days record. Though I think Only Lonely will work too.

yeah it can go both ways.

i think hearts breaking even is actually really good for getting over it, worked for me before.

mazzy starrs fade into u is probably one of the most haunting songs ive ever heard and that cud be good if u just want to wallow for a while.
