For some good rock 'n' roll Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf and the intro of Metallica's One is not too bad either I think.

... that's all I can think of right at this moment... but there are more good intro's... much more!

Deffinately Floyd. How about Privite Investigations?

Also, (another of mine, my head just get's bigger and bigger) Rock and Roll tain. The intro is about 4 mins long, with a couple of verses, very nice organ and guitar solo section, then a big build up for the song. I'm very proud of it. It could be a song in itself, but is a fantastic intro to one of the best rock songs I've written with Tom!
