I was in the tube on my way from our office in the West End back to Canary Wharf when it was announced there were problems with one of the tube lines. I didn't realise what it was about until I got to my desk and hear the comments.

Whether it was a kind of sick joke or something a bit more serious I don't know, unfortunately we'll have to get used to the idea there will probably be more alerts.

True and i understand your point but i don't like the idea of sending my son there once a year and this time it's during all this .... It won't stop us, we leaving tomorrow afternoon but i'm going to Oxford, if it was London i'd feel more nervous. I don't want to hear my son is in London.
f you live there, i understand you can't stop living but if there is no obligation then you can stay away if you feel like it.
I lived in Paris and things like that happened of course unfortunely. I always tried to go to work by feet or car but no bus or underground if it was possible and i didn't want to be in some public areas like stations or Eiffel tower etc ...

Agreed. That could sadly happen anywhere. We've been dealing with terrorism in Spain since the 1970s as well and you just learn to live with it. If something bad is going to happen to you it will even if you run and hide. Better live like you should and keep the faith.

I really cant believe this is happening all over again. It just makes you wonder, why they targetted London again. Why did they not target another big city? I just hope forensic's find their finger prints, and the police capture who those responsible for yesterdays 'incidents'. At least if these are caught, then they might be able to give us some more evidence in the case of 7/7, where as a fortnight ago, that was impossible as the bombrs were killed. It makes me sick to know they are still on the loose...

From bbc.co.uk.........

Train evacuated as 'shots heard'

Passengers have been evacuated from a Tube train on the Northern Line at Stockwell, south London, after hearing what appeared to be shots being fired.

Passenger Briony Coetsee said: "We were on the Tube and then we suddenly heard someone say, 'Get out, get out' and then we heard gunshots."

Police are hunting four would-be bombers after Thursday's London blasts.

The bombers fled after detonators went off, causing small blasts, but failed to detonate the bombs themselves.

From bbc.co.uk:

Man shot by armed police on Tube
A man has been shot at Stockwell Tube station by armed police officers.

Passenger Mark Whitby told BBC News he had seen an Asian man shot five times by "plain-clothes police officers" with a handgun.

Passengers were evacuated from the Northern Line station in south London. Police have also cordoned off surrounding streets.

Eyewitnesses say armed police have surrounded a mosque in east London that has been evacuated after a bomb scare.

Police are hunting four would-be bombers after Thursday's London blasts.

The bombers fled after detonators went off, causing small blasts, but failed to detonate the bombs themselves.

Services on the Victoria and Northern lines have been suspended following a request by the police, London Underground said.

Ambulances including an air ambulance have been sent to the scene.

Mr Whitby, told BBC News: "I was sitting on the train reading my paper.

"I heard a load of noise, people saying, 'Get out, get down'!

"I saw an Asian guy run onto the train hotly pursued by three plain-clothes police officers.

"One of them was carrying a black handgun - it looked like an automatic - they pushed him to the floor, bundled on top of him and unloaded five shots into him.

"I saw the gun being fired five times into the guy - he's dead."

Passenger Briony Coetsee said: "We were on the Tube and then we suddenly heard someone say, 'Get out, get out' and then we heard gunshots."
