I'd be interested to know more about this curse.

Sounds somewhat similar to what we call playing shit.

Basically, it goes like this... In 1918, the Boston Red Sox traded Babe Ruth to the Yankees. From then on, when they have gotten to the World Series or to the AL Championship Game, they have always lost. To break that curse, Boston MUST win the World Series.

There is a little more to the story. The Red Sox traded Babe Ruth to the Yankees because they thought his career was over. He was a pitcher at the time. So Ruth went to the Yankees and became the greatest hitter (not pitcher) of all time. The Italian word for Babe is Bambino which is why you'll sometimes see it called the curse of the Bambino.
Since then, 1918, Boston has not won one world series so their poor playing has been blamed on the curse. We'll see how they do this year.

A curse? lol

You never thought they didn't win because the teams they played were better?
