Default burger tossing poll

sadly many peoples rights of passage into the working world involves working in a shitty food outlet f soe sort.

so fess up who's worked under the golden arches or knows how to whack together a big king in under 20 seconds?

I've worked behind the kiosks at Ibrox and Parkhead stadiums for rangers and celtic matches for a catering company. think i might have done a scotland game too. crap. supporters seem to think food runnign out is the workers fault.

burger king: the workers were nice but the managers weere arses. quit after telling my boss to **** off for adding hours to my shift and not tellign me till i was about to go home. definetely not one for the CV

Greggs. wasnt too bad but its not exactly a place for guys and i was really only there to stop junkies nicking rolls and stuff. everythign was too low too cos its full of women so it hurt my back.

i make bread and cakes and shit now which isnt too bad cept it smells bad and its a killer if your hungover because of the smell and heat.

everytime i leave a job i promise myself im not doign naything with food again cos its horrible.

confessions.....

I worked as a hostess at the Ground Round Restaurant in my younger years, but....

One time the Ground Round Clown called out, and ermm..they needed someone to stand on the highway and wave at the kids. Sucker that I am, I put on the makeup, outfit and red afro wig and stood out on the highway and waved to people. Needless to say, I was given the finger by one passing car and asked to blow someone in another, so I went inside defeated and hung up the red wig forever. It was a sad day.

I work at Pizza Hut...commonly referred to as Hell Hut by myself and friends. Apparently, the man who owns our store owns something like 120+ Pizza Huts, Taco Bells and KFCs

Managers aren't too bad. I've been there 3 years on June 6th and have more experience than half the staff combined. My fellow workers are a$$holes. I have 15 year olds giving me attitude for asking them to put wings in the oven. Needless to say, I tore in them Customers in this area are pretty brutal too. Its not a "wedgie" pizza, its veggie you moron!!!!!!!!

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

I worked at a Burger King once.
Lasted for about 2 months, I was "let go" because I was to slow with the burgers, **** man I can't help it if I don't want to give anybody a bad burger!!!
Management was awfull, my co workers were cool but I can't even eat at that place anymore because I once saw a coworker spitting on a fish sandwich because it was for his exgirlfriends current boyfriend
it was downright disgusting.could you imagine finding spit in your food??

I never worked in the food industry at all - either cooking or serving. I started working in construction at a pretty young age - mostly because the pay was triple the minimum wage at the time and I needed the money. I decided that I liked it so much that I worked my way through engineering college the same way - and have never regretted a minute of it.
I have heard many horror stories from friends in the food business though.

hehe Mouse...they just closed all of the Ground Rounds in my area. I can relate to the clown story. I had to be the Easter Bunny for a few years when I worked at Sears in my younger years. I swear that costume weighed 50 lbs.

More Ground Rounds closed. They closed the one I worked at a long time ago too.

Easter Bunny!! Wow, I don't think I could have dealt with head gear along with screaming children too!! That couldn't have been much fun!

I worked at McDonald's for 7 years.. I started there part time during my school and uni years, working as Head Cashier and then I was Manager for a year. I loved McDonald's, really did enjoy it. My boss wanted me to really get a career in the Mac world, unfortunately due to health issues I had to quit.. who knows where I would be now!!
