Not even joking, McDonalds turned me down for a job... most people think it's cos I'm overqualified though, so I'm alright with that. Looking back on it, I'm glad I didn't get it really... course, I'm now working at Sainsbury's, so I dunno how much better that is

third option :P
but it's funny because the supporters of capitalism (i'm not saying "capitalists" because they aren't) most likely, will never become capitalists theirselves. :P

nah man McD's will take anyone on. at our age there aren't many jobs you can be overqualified for including sticking a bit of meat on a roll.

I'd like to congratulate you on avoiding it but Im kinda shocked that you didnt get it

Luckily I've managed to avoid those type of jobs, however my family own a large chain of burger/fried chicken outlets in this country and ship chicken to a large percentage of Europe, so I don't think my dad would have let me work for the competition even I'd have wanted to!

As for working for him...no chance LOL.

I worked at a coffee shop, and they sold pasteries(at one point sandwiches) I've dealt with cheap owners, annoying and stupid co-workers and snoby customers. On a whole I've had more positive then negative experiences with co-workers and customers. The regular customers were especially nice. However, being a female in the food service industry I've had to deal with customers asking me out. Sometimes they've been really wierd and stalkerish about(ie only coming imn when I worked) Some of the owners I've worked for have been so incredibly cheap you wouldn't believe what they would do to save a buck!

Never had to flip a burger but I can make a mean ice cream sundae. I worked at Baskin-Robbins for a few years when I first went to college. It wasn't as bad as your typical fast food place though. I actually enjoyed it but it's not something I would have wanted to do forever. My boss was great and I loved decorating cakes. Plus, lots of free samples! Yummy!
