As opposed to those countries where people get FBI files for being politically incorrect? For those of you who haven't heard of it, look up the FBI program COINTELPRO. The FBI tried to silence political opponents of the government by destroying marriages, people's jobs and reputations. They even set what they thought was an incriminating tape to Martin Luther King with the threat that if he didn't commit suicide, they'd make the tape public. Wow. Really sounds like people are free to say whatever they want. Also, you should look into the Arab detentions after 9/11. Some guy was arrested for having pictures of the Twin Towers on his vacation film. Another man, a carpenter, was arrested for having box cutters in his truck, and a third Arab man was detained for, like 80 days, because he used a library computer, and another patron called the FBI to report an Arab man "acting suspiciously." Freedom of speech, huh?
