Generally, 1 or 2 pages a paper has articles about America. The Daily Mail, one of the UK's less information packed newspapers contained 96 pages today. So not sure what papers your sister is reading.
Concerning Israel - it might interest you to know that Palestine occupied the land Israel now holds before Israel kicked them out earlier last century - claiming it was their land about 2000 years ago when Jesus was around. Armed with US weapons they then repelled an attempted invasion by palestine & other Middle Eastern states. The mess you see now is a result of that. The extremists Palestinians goal is nothing less than seeing Israel destroyed & the same with Israel. Israel is using its strength to oppress the Palestinian people & claim more & more land. A palestinian extremist blows himself up, killing Israelis - Israel then retaliate, blowing up Palestinians with US weapons.
This 'little' conflict is infact the biggest threat to peace within the Middle East.
So hopefully you can see that it is not just 'terrorists' hating Israel for the sake of it.

As far as Iraq goes, the U.S. has taken a policy of not waiting to be attacked. That was a big reason for going to war. Iraq has been a pain in the world's as@ for too long. When your country looses 3,000 people in a terrorist attack and you lived what we did-you may change your mind.We are not going to "wait for it to happen anymore.
|
But hang on.... Iraq had no WMD & no credible terrorist ties. Libya had however supported state sponsored terrorism in the past, inlcuding the IRA that the US were actually sympathetic too & are alleged to have supplied them with money and weapons.
And it will interest you to know that the UK government produced a report saying that this invasion had made the terrorist threat to the world more dangerous. You are doing exactly what they want. Bin Laden could not have dreamed his planned attacks of the WTC would have been so 'successful' (from his point of view).

I did not say 20 years goose,I couldn't go that far. What EXACTLY i mean is well lets see. First they try to take over Kuwait(sp?),commit horrible crimes on there people.
|
That came after we'd supported them in their war over Iran - where the majority of the mass graves that are being uncovered resulted from.

Then they don't let inspectors in for 10 years.

Actually it was four years. They left because Iraq weren't cooperating. They weren't cooperating because of the sanctions. Vicious circle.

And I do believe they supported terrorists-depends on who you watch if that gets covered.

You believe?? You speculate?? Based on what?? Bin Laden hated Saddam & everything he stood for. There are no credible links.

That my friend,affected America big!

What? That they were speculating a threat?

To say that Saddam had nothing up his sleeve is foolish i my opinion.

But he didn't - Kay has shown that.

Sorry you support them/ silly Brits I wasn't speaking of their people ,just of their dictator rule. That's why he was a pain in the a$$!! I also believe there were weapons-there are people over there that say they were there, but probably moved-also a pain in the a$$.

You may speculate there were, but the guy who actually went there & looked said they weren't.

I don't know if u get the whole story anyway(BBC)-Their reporting is very biased.

Based on what?? Have you watched it?? It is independent & is not controlled by large republican corporations.

And no-I didn't frommy opinion from the guy in Fox(although Ido love Fox as much as you love your BBC) yo mamma. Ya know-my sister-in-0laws sister live in London and says that a very good part of your news is about America-more than your own country. Nothin else totalk about this? Oh,and she told me this before the war was even thought about-so don't blame it on that.
|
America appears in our news more than other countries because of its influence. However to say it appears more than domestic news is either arrogant, stupid, or dillusional.
If you want me to provide links to any of the above I will. You will find that is not the informed speculation that you are spurting out.
& no - it's not because you are American. I have had arguments with republicans FAR more informed than yourself.
