it'd be cool if we could get this running by the end of the week. at least a song picked so it doesn't just fall by the wayside because i've got everything up ready for recording just now so once i know the tune i can get it done and sent to wayne asap.

All shaping up nicely - More than happy with any of the tracks you suggested, Jim- Though we should maybe pick something that gives the guitarists a chance to show off some... nothing like a classy solo.

I just recorded the solos from 30 BJ songs, sounding crisp and fuzz-free. Long way from mixable and usable though.

I got a bit carried away on Prayer, just disappearing off into The People's Key (E) and soloing for about 8 minutes. Sometimes I just cant resist - it doesnt sound that amazing, theres 45 seconds of shred

Who's going to compile the tracks and mix it?

A click track would probably be a must to get everything in time.

As to songs, I'd prefer anything of Slippery or NJ, although I'm pretty much open to anything by Bon Jovi. Maybe some demo they never did properly? Like Love Is War?

i'd be pretty happy to do anything off of KTF to be honest i think there's enough fun parts on that for everyone to enjoy it no matter what part their doing.

fwiw i'm listening to fear and think that'd be great to do if we got lots of backing vocals at the chorus and nailed the energy.

failing that i want you would be cool too purely because i'd love to show off my legacy's clean tone on the verses


if the song we do doesn't have a solo then anyone laying doing guitar tracks could work out a solo if we give a specific length of bars or particular section to repeat for it and i'd just add the additional bars / section when i lay down the drum tracks.

e.g. if i was your mother i'd play another chorus at some point whether it's in the middle or end to allow space for solo's, if we had a few guitarists wanting to rip on it we'd just add several of them.


something off of a solo album would be cool too. ive got a couple of kits patched in that are great for DA stuff and i think doing something upbeat and rocky from blaze of glory or Undiscovered soul would be cool too.
