I think if you have been mixing with other different accents this can make it sound like a completely different accent. I have a mixed accent and at times have had it confused... now I sound english northern/londonish/suffolk with twangs of Indiana american !!!!!!!!!!

At least it will show you have been around a lot

Jana - You sounded German to me, but your accent was a small one. My son had a German girlfriend and her accent was much more pronounced than yours.

On the other hand - Kev's accent was much stronger even though he speaks English LOL. Thierry didn't sound as if he had much of an accent at all - in English anyway. And Becky had a definite southern accent - but since I have had other friends from the south - I had no trouble understanding her.

I have a very good Romanian friend who came to this country in 1968 and he first lived in Chicago. To this day he has somewhat of a Chigaco accent - it's weird LOL.

There are variances of the scouse accent, and living near Liverpool I hear them a lot, but Kev does have quite a strong accent.

You would both actually be surprised. I have a LOT of people tell me that my scouse accent is quite 'soft'. My accent isn't as common as many other scousers. Alot of my friends have much broader Liverpool accents. My accent isnt strong at all, however if you were'nt from the area or not used to hearing 'us' speak everyday, you would think it was pretty broad.

But I am from the area pretty much lol As I said there are variations to the accent and I think yours is pretty strong compared to others I've heard. Glad I don't have the same accent though, it sounds so common hehe and I'm also glad mine isn't quite so strong as other people who live round here, like Johnny Vegas for one lol
