True Russ, but honestly, you don't see it at the beginning of a relation, or not always, sometimes people change only once they are parents.

But he's right !!! try to be sure the other person is the one you want to stay with for life ... (if it's possible )

true, sometimes they change - too bad.

Unfortunately, too often the writing is on the wall, and people still don't get it (or think they'll change their partner)

That reminds me something I heard once:

"Women fall in love with a men, try to change them during 20 years or more and then dump them because they're not the men they fell in love with anymore."

How true is this?

As for knowing if your partner is the right one to have kids with, I guess it takes a lot of talking about and sort of "tests" with other people's kids.
The thing is no one knows if he's ready to have kids until he has one.

I would say it is totally true if you exchange Women with Men

this may sound selfish, but at the moment i am not even sure i want to have kids the thing is... i feel too immature. i dont even like to shop food and cook for myself and i hate washing my clothes with kids it would be even more work (much more...). i must admit though, i am quite lazy. i feel bad about that but thats just the way i am... i guess this will have changed in about 10 years (at least i hope so).

but if i ever have a child i want it to grow up happily and in a stable home.

No, don't worry Choc, it was the same for me, and i'm still lazy, not a very good cooker and have to do three loads of washing a day sometimes But it's much work, so when you are in a situation like yours, it's nearly impossible, studies first, the rest later .... and yes it will change (a bit) because you're not stupid or crazy or whatever, you'll love your kids and you won't have any choices, you'll give them all they will need

I believe you are referring to the Chinese? If so, they are indeed people not animals. That is quite a deragatory and ignorant statment, isn't it? I hope you are aware that in China, people are not allowed more than one baby? If they have more they are fined and/or loose their jobs. That is how soooo many babies end up in orphanages. Very very sad. The orphanages are sooo poor that many of these babies don't even survive.

I have friends that adopted a Chinese baby girl (they already have a daughter of their own and decided to adopt the second child - quite admirable). They went through quite an ordeal to adopt this Chinese girl and they showed us tons of slides about their journey to China to pick up their girl. It was quite obvious from the pictures, that if they didn't adopt her, she would not have survived.

To say those people SELL their babies to Westeners that cannot have their own is deragatory, ignorant and insensitive.

I hope you were drunk beyond oblivion when you wrote that post otherwise (though probably still) you are the only ANIMAL around here.
