Who said Hitler didn't believe in God? Osama Bin Laden believes in his God and look what he does. George W. Bush is a Born Again Christian and look what he does.. believing in God does not necessarily make you stay on "the right path" I think there are enough people who just believe in treating others correctly and have their own morals and values without needing religion to do so.
