You're kidding me, right? Leading a righteous life has nothing to do with being religious or not.There are a LOT of people who don't believe in a god and still maintain a decent life, i.e. no killing, no stealing, no crossing lines in any way. Call it morality, call it having a conscience.
Not to mention all the killings that were made 'in the name of god'.
When it comes to Hitler and his actions; common sense will tell ya that whatever he has done, *is* wrong.
