Default Christmas pet peeves

Have you got any?

It really annoys me to see Christmas written as X-mas. That gets on my nerves. Yes, I know the explanation, but it seems so lazy to me to abbreviate the word. Along the same line, it annoys me when people call Thanksgiving "Turkey Day" as if the day is all about the turkey.

I have a LOT of linguistic pet peeves. LOL

The X-Mas/Christmas thing bothers me too. Another thing that drives me mental is when people bring young children into stores like ToysRUs and the kids start screaming because they can't have the toys. Oh and finally, fruitcake!!! Nobody likes it!!!

I have the exact same things! I even got into an arguement about the whole Thanksgiving/Turkey Day.

I also don't like how if I give out my Christmas List to people, they expect that they have to get everything. They asked for my list! What do they want me to do?! It's called a wish list for a reason!

See, the opposite happens to me. If I'm lucky, I'll get one thing I asked for. Meanwhile, my brothers end up with almost everything they asked for

I don't get everything I want. For instance, my aunt asked for my Christmas List, which just happens to include 71 movies, but I don't really expect to get any more than five. She then tells me that, "You know, I won't be able to get everything on this list...." I'm sitting there thinking, "I know... I didn't want or expect you to get everything.. one or two things would be nice... but not all..." Maybe she was thinking a more personalized Christmas list, instead of my full one.. but she should have stated that...

The first year I decide to make a list, and it blows up in my face.

That totally drove me nuts this year. In October it was already starting. Darn stores, trying to get people to spend their money earlier than necessary.
