Default Christmas Story

what christmas is
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
all about......
This morning on my way home from droping Shaun off... I was listing to Star out here on the Radio.
Every year Tommy one of the guys on the morning show does what he calls breaking and entering christmas.
Tommy grew up with 7 older sibblings and a single mom because his dad died when he was 5. So with 8 kids you can imagen that money was tight and there wasnt much in the way of christmas in his house.
SO Tommy uses his pull as a DJ to help out one really needing family every year.
As i sit here typing this i'm still crying.
This year...A teacher of a 3 grade boy wrote in.
She had been trying to get with the mom for a parent teacher meeting... but the mom who worked till 6 never got home till after 9 pm because she took the bus. All 3 boys ages 8 7 and 5 were in great need of cloths ... when we had our real cold snap here in Cali... they didnt have jackets or sweat shirts or anything.... The teacher said the boy is a modle student... helps where ever and when ever he can for his class mates and is just all around a joy. She purchased him a sweater because she hated to see him cold. She went to the house to have a meeting with the mom.... the apartment has NO heat .... and the teacher said she could see the mothers breath as she was talking as if they were out side. And the boys ate a dinner that night of crackers and dry cereal. When the class wrote letters to santa.... all the little boy asked for was good food for his family to eat.
Anyway... They went to this apartment... and the REALLY PICK THE LOCK and "break and enter" mind you the Police were there to make sure all was legit. and in the house.... the took in ALL new fruniture. 5000 dollars in toys... All new cloths over 3000 dollars in cash a new fridge STOCKED with food.... they had a neclace donated for the mother with ALL 3 boys initials on it..... and they got her a car!
My heart just sank at how generous these people all were.... Alot of sponsors like Frys and Nordstroms and a few other places like that donated alot of the stuff for the house... and even the bail bond king out here donated 500 dollars in cash... this family will come home tonight to new heaters... a microwave they never had before.... Food toys new warm cloths and Mom will get to start spending more time with her sons because now... she has a Car and will be able to be home much sooner every day.....
Its things like this that just warm my heart ....
AND!!! The SDPD is staying AT THE HOUSE until mom gets home so that nothing can be stolen and no one can take any of this stuff away from them
Just hearing this little boys story makes me all the more thankful for what i have....

Absolutely amazing... I'm glad that they are warm and safe. Everytime I got out this time a year I donate a dollar or two, (even though I can't afford it) to the Santa Clauses and Salvation Army workers outside ringing the bell. It warms my heart to think that those two dollars will feed someone or put clothes on their back. On the other hand, in our society we have rich folks who have so much money that they don't know what to do with it... Most donate to a foundation, but what about giving to the many poor families who can't afford anything?? I know I would be more than willing to give to the poor if I had that kind of money. Anways, nice story and I'm glad they are going to have a great christmas. God Bless

Ryan

I know its a bizzare world in which we live. America is such a wealthy country yet you still get cases like this where people have no money. I told my kids this story as they have so much yet take it for granted .
