Rooney 'Wasting his Time' If He Stick with Toffees

Wayne Rooney’s uncle John Morrey fears England’s teenage sensation could be “wasting his time” if he stays too long at his beloved Everton.

Multi-million pound transfer figures are already being suggested for Rooney, who put himself on football’s world map last night when he became the youngest player ever to score a goal in the European Championship finals.

The powerhouse 18-year-old striker was outstanding in England’s 3-0 Group B victory over 10-man Switzerland.

It was a performance which his uncle John concedes will have put Rooney in a whole new category when it comes to possible transfers. But it is Everton’s paucity of talent to help Rooney realise his world-class potential which is his main worry.

“It is like (Steven) Gerrard at Liverpool. He needs players alongside him, and unless Everton get the players that are necessary he would just be wasting his time in the end,” he told talksport radio.

“He would not be developing without the support of his team-mates.”

I haven't seen us play a deacent game of football since before Erikson! I mean, yeah, great defence, a Rooney's doing everbody's head in all the time, but as a team I'd say we're shite. I prefered it when we used to loose but at least give up a fight THE ENGLISH WAY, exciting attacking football. Nowadays you've got to be in a pub full of drunks and be drunk yourself to enjoy an England game! it's like we have a striker and a good defence but inbetween, FUUCK ALL, where the hell is Scholes? Bring on Hargreaves I say. Gonna be lucky to beat the croatians. COME ON ENGLAND!!!

I think our midfield is our strongest part of the side. Beckham, Scholes, Hardgreaves, Cole, Gerrard, Butt (when hes fit). Id much rather have these players than Figo and Zidane.
