Most of the best players in the world play in England. & arguably our best player - Beckham - plays in the Spanish league for one of the best sides.

onewildnights brother in regards to yesterdays one way argument with some ritchie guy

well quite a game, france vs england wouldnt you agree ritchie? beckham played stellar, missing that penalty shot. he certainly dictated the pace of the game right? i think beckham was lost in the pace of the game is a better statement. he did nothing. one lucky cross in and there were the english praising david beckham their saviour. what about the other 89 minutes and 59 seconds plus stoppage time? it is as if he was never on the field. england did not lose the game beckham lost the game. u can see hes trying at least, i mean, he shaved his head so his hair wouldnt be the centre of his thoughts. hes drowning england like hes drowning real madrid. hel be quickly forgiven im sure. after all, cant stay angry with your "saviour" when is the world going to realize beckham is not the star he is because of his soccer skill but because of his pretty boy face; only a boy, a boy in a mans game.

France won the match 2-1 but I think England was the better side if you look at the overall match performance.

England defended very well; Pires, Henry, Trezeguet & Zidane couldn't create any chances for France. Which sends a very strong message of how good England really is.

Wayne Rooney played a good match and it seems that he is going to be a valuable asset for England in this tournament. I was also very surprised how well Ledley King played. He was solid, confident & most importantly he did a brilliant job with Sol Campbell. After what I saw tonight, there is simply no need for John Terry.

Zinédine Zidane is the best player in the world and tonight he made us all know why. Two goals in 3 minutes, one from the freekick & one from the spot. Simply brilliant.

David Beckham failed to score from the spot. Fabien Barthez made a fantastic save. Despite the fact that Beckham missed the penalty he played well. He made a few crusial tackles, defended well, crossed the ball to Lampard's head & passed the ball to Rooney and he took it to the box.
