Thanks everyone

It's good to hear that I'm not the only one panicking and stressing over it. Although I've decided to complete studies, look for jobs and leave the wedding plans for the time being.
I didn't say Tom was an atheist... I said he is a non-Christian, which is what I meant. In the context of the wedding, ie. only members of Christian churches can marry in a church in Finland, Tom doesn't qualify. So it doesn't matter (in this context) if he's a muslim, an atheist, a jew... Just saying he's a non-christian will do fine
And Lutheran is a branch of Protestantism, just like Anglicans are, for example. Main religion in Finland, Sweden, Germany I think, etc. Follow Ice's link
And thank god (pun not intended) Tom doesn't have to become a Christian, ie be baptised for the wedding..> We went to a baptism in England (Anglican I think) and it was horrible

I kept thinking fortunately Tom's not the one being carried around the church by the priest
And yes, August 2005.
