If you remember, Tom and I were looking into options of the ceremony of the wedding... I'm a Lutheran and always wanted to get married in a church, Tom a non-Christian, with no particular religious or otherwise need to join, or to get married in a church. We've looked into alternatives, and came to a compromise that really is perfect
We're gonna have a civil ceremony on the day of the wedding, with a regirstrar's officer doing the actual marriage. Then later that day we'll have a blessing of the marriage in the church, the ceremony will be very much the same - the I do's, the ring being exchanged, the you may now kiss the brides and that sort of stuff. The only difference is that we'll be already married. So instead of asking "Will you take this man to be your husband..." the priest will ask "Will you honour this marriage... " and stuff like that. Perfect, methinks.
As for the other things, most of the stuff has been decided on and planned - but nothing has really been done on it. Sometimes I get the feeling that I just want to postpone the whole thing or elope to somewhere in the Cayman islands to escape it all - there's so much to do, to plan, to think, and it's gonna cost way more than I'd like to spend (=read, for my dad to spend :P) on one day. But then I take a look at Tom and realise it is what I really want... It's just so much stress sometimes in the midst of all other stress...
Anyways, just thought I'd give an update... It's been a while
