My daughter always had the same reaction Becky - no way was she ever going to sit in that guys lap ! My two older sons adored Santa but not my daughter. I never made a big deal about it when she was little and she doesn't seem to hold a grudge now at the age of 14 LOL

Santa Clause probably never liked you because you did something terrible and therefor you got pissed at him. And now you twisted your memory in a way that it's Santa who's to blame instead of you ! Sad sad sad...

I never liked Santa either... but for different reasons.

In Spain we've always had the Three Wise Men arriving on January 6, but these last years, Santa has been taking over, and I hate him for that. The Three Wise Men are our tradition and I'm afraid in case we lose it! Plus, many children are starting to get their presents on Christmas day, and I think (in Spain) it ruins the magic of it all. The point of the Christmas holidays here is waiting till Jan 6.

So that's why I don't like this fat, old, Coca-Cola-dressed guy

I think my son saw right through the BS once he was old enough to learn about Santa. He always trips me up, then I'll have to struggle with answers

A couple of years ago, I swear, I could tell in his face that he already figured out the whole scheme - and I could tell he hesitated for a second, then went with it because he knows it means so much to me. He is one smart little kid. Or, I am just incapable of pulling off the whole "Santa thing" - which is very likely. :P
