Well, it can't be more complicated than it's here. It once took me a few hundred words to explain it.

gotta agree with AnnU. even most of our teachers don't understand is. there is one person at our school that only deals with questions regarding the exams...its ridiculous...even if i tried i wouldn't be able to explain the system here. its way too confusing, i only understand about half of it

bare in mind AS exams are so messed up that they are over-complicated...

they give the dumb people a better chance (ie natural D or E grade students can get Cs)... but the people who normally would get As or Bs find it much harder...

because the higher the average mark, the smaller and higher the grade boundaries

i can't think what we have

state
grammar - state
- independent
private/public

I was a state school guy! I'm always proud of that - because it annoys me that some people i go to university with now paid about £18,000 just for their a-levels and boarding schools...

Ya, here there's also only one teacher who really understands it. And it's a physics/math teacher. All the others (especially the art and language teachers) never really understood it.

incidentally while we are on the topic of education if anyone can help me with my history essay i'd be very grateful!!!

General History IV
Society, Nation and Empire (1815-1914)

Education

Did the reform and spread of education do more to consolidate class hierarchies than to promote social mobility? (Answer with particular reference to the European middle class)
