Did the reform and spread of education do more to consolidate class hierarchies than to promote social mobility? (Answer with particular reference to the European middle class)
How can you ask that? History is my worst subject

Hi Choclady! you're a star - it's for Friday morning 7 am... so I won't be sleeping Thursday night.

I am doing, Moose, anthropology, this general history i posted, economics as an approach, i did anglo-saxon Britain last term, and next term it is theories of the state (rousseau, aristotle, marx, hobbes, plato, mill, locke)

I'm well up on my 20th century - so all the nationalism, socialism, democracy i'm good on late 19th/early 20th...

that's why i find a lot of my course difficult - i've never done anything but the USSR and Russia, and Germany 1975-1945

most of it was yeh...

it's all these guys saying that happinness is more important than anything else etc...

i don't get it much - the lectures are difficult and the guy doing them seems to think we have all read the books but we don't actually do the tutorials till next term.

Wow. Some of that looks absolutely mind numbingly boring, lol.

I am doing Computing (A-Level) and thought it was boring, but some of that goes beyond boring. Although that it just my opinion, you guys must like it to be studying it.
