if for every pint u drink, u also smoke a joint, id say the damage would be the same,

i know drink causes more accidents, but i think i seen a show that said all drivers in accidents or cuaught driving had drugs in thier bodys.

but i dont agree with is being re-classified, tho i also wouldnt want it used widely, i hate smoking, and i have even caught down my drinking seriously, im into the the fitter side of life, but then again wait till im back at uni!

There is simply no rational reason to believe that reclassifying weed will have any effect on the number of people smoking until you get to far-east levels of punishment. Until that point, all you are doing is needlessly making life more difficult for those who enjoy a smoke.

It would almost be more acceptable to be publicly smoking weed than a cigarette these days...

True, but it is not a negligable risk. Many, many people wouldn't think twice about driving home at 4 in the morning after taking pills at a mate's.

That said, that fact is no argument for banning drugs any more than drink-driving is an argument for banning alcohol.

Depends on the drugs as well when driving... I would say that drinking and driving is more lethal than marihuana when driving. Drink gives tunnel vision and reduces inhabitions whereas marihuana (on the whole) does not!. Yes, you become more mellow (on the whole) when smoking but not more aggressive. And don't just limit alcohol to driving - how about spousal abuse or drink induced fights... alcohol is far more dangerous, but it is accepted.
I'm not advocated smoking and driving - but I think that it is seen to be more dangerous than it actually is. Here it is tolerated, not legal and there are (on the whole and foreigners taken out of the equation...) hardly any problems with marihuana.

I understand, but just because alcohol is more dangerous than marihuana doesn't make it totally alright. At least that is my opinion.
