Yeah, just social issues. A $900 premium in Mississippi is far more pressing than people or the environmental health of the planet. By the way, he just announced a climate-change doubter as head of the EPA...

Obamacare is very successful. It's a disaster in Mississippi due to low participation. It was something to fix, not blame Obama / Democrats and then pull the trigger on the country and planet.
Wait! You're not the white skater kid in the SFTP video????

It is when you're only bringing home $2000 a month. Like I said, I didn't think anyone would listen with an open mind. When you're being taxed to death and you can't afford healthcare and you'll be penalized if you don't have healthcare it is a big deal. Then there's education, poverty, lack of jobs, roads and bridges.... in the hierarchy of needs, if you can't provide for your family because you're being taxed to death and charged insane amounts for insurance, but then you can't go to the doctor when you're sick anyway because of the deductibles, you have a different perspective.

Do I believe in climate change? Absolutely. Do I believe in equal rights? Absolutely. I imagine most people do.

But, everyone has to prioritize what makes them choose a candidate and for many Trump supporters those problems were healthcare, taxes, jobs, education. They didn't like him either. They simply felt that four more years of Democrats would kill the working class.

Sometimes it's not about personality, but the promise. Both of these candidates were scraping the bottom of the barrel. The saving grace is there are checks and balances. Nothing is done unilaterally, unless you're Obama with his 187 executive orders.

I don't think either of these two were fit for the highest office in the land. I knew my state would be called for Trump 2 seconds after the polls closed. My hope was to make a difference by helping a 3rd party get to 5 percent. That would have been significant. It didn't happen though.

Default Dear Americans,

My Twitter feed is full of lots of people (including celebs) from the UK complaining about Trump. American politics is seemingly more important than their own Government's. (unless it's to shout about Tony Blair being a war criminal)

I've no idea what the ramifications are now that Trump will be in power. But America were always on a hiding to nothing when the opposing Presidential candidate was a proven liar.

"Hillary Clinton may be lying so let's vote for the guy we know for sure he's a liar". That's beyond me. I hope Trump will take care of people who voted for him as well as he did with the pensioners who had invested all their money in his businesses back in the 80s.

Look, out president doesn't have as much power as most people think... Every decision gets voted through the House of both Republican and Democrat... It also needs to go through multiple steps... Next, Trumps cabinet is being filled with some of the best, most respected individuals in politics... so as everyone here continues to freak out, go look at the all-star team he'll have working with him...

Yep, I am not a Trump supporter, but I have no doubt he believes in climate change. I think he has even said as much in the past. I think people miss the fact he instantly flipped on a lot of issues so he could tow policy line and run as a Republican. His stance on immigration aside, at least personally Trump may not be as far away as Democrats think, at least on policy. Of course, he is a Republican president so it will be hard for him to show any left-leanings he has while in office.

I said that to someone today in work. He's a figurehead.

The toss up for some people when choosing who to vote for is often down to personalities not policy.

It all went wrong in the primary elections, if those would have turned out differently there could have been different people running against each other in the end.

Exactly. If the DNC hadn't picked Hillary from the start and the people had better judgment this wouldn't have happened.
