I don't think one smells bad simply because they don't use deoderant. I think that is what the commercials want you to believe, but it just isn't true. If you shower every day and wear clean clothes, there is no reason why you should start to smell while sitting in front of your computer. If I go work out, I will not wear deoderant either, I will take a shower afterwards. I always see those girls in the locker room putting on deoderant before working out - I find them retarded - it so makes no sense. You work out, you sweat, you stink, you shower.

I've always been in favor of showers over applying stuff to mask smells

(I do wear deoderant most days, but not always and if I start smelling, I shower - even if it is twice a day - seems a lot more logical to me. I also only apply deoderant right after a shower, I'd never apply it during the day without showering ---- YUCK!!!!!!!)

Yeah, me too. Then again, you are talking to someone who showers before and after going to the gym. I have a clean fixation. I think my mom did it to me when I was a kid...

you shower BEFORE the gym??? Like right before?

But speaking about cleanliness and showers, I have a coworker, who does not shower in the morning, but only showers AFTER her workout during lunch. That is a bit too long of a time to 'stink' around, imo. :P

Ok, I need to jump in here.

First of all, comparing not using deordorant to not changing your underwear or brushing your teeth is just off. Let's get a grip here. That's the same class of reasoning as comparing gay marriage/relationships to bestiality and raping children.

Many of you have been trained to immediately react badly at just the word "Body Odor" due to years of commercials that make the slightest presence of it something to be ashamed of and disgusted at. All you have to do is step back and recognize Body Odor for what it is. It's not a disgusting byproduct of your body the way your feces and the resulting smell are. It's natural and serves a purpose.

While it's not a great idea to go to work or school with your natural body scent freely flowing, this has more to do with the setting and the fact you'd be exposing people to it in an appropriate situation. When it comes to dating/mating rituals, this is the realm where it figures in naturally. Females are drawn to males based on their scent which can identify them as suitable partners/mates. Vice versa, males are attracted by a woman's natural scent. It's not just about looks. So Ladies, keep this in mind when you are are spraying every last bit of your body with foreign scents. Just because you've been sold as such doesn't mean that your man (or woman) truly finds these scents attractive. They don't taste very good either, keep that in mind, too. It's at this point where artificial products actually cross over into being disgusting.

Deordorant/Anti-prespirant should be used in public settings to keep a neutral presence, don't get me wrong. But drop this idea that wearing it/not wearing it equals clean/unclean. It's the result of brainwashing. Next time you go on a date, you might want to scale back how much artificial product you degrade your body with.

I usually shower at night, I don't like having a shower in the morning...and now I've virtually finished for summer I will only really see morning as I go to bed, generally only getting up at noon anyway :P

I hate the showers at the gym/pool though because they are far too hot and no control, fortunately I'm getting used to them though, I just don't like it too hot, lol

Erk, let me clarify. If I go after school, then I don't shower because I have already showered in the morning. But if I go on a weekend, then I shower before and after I go. Don't get me wrong, I don't do my hair and makeup and all that nonsense.

That's basically what I'm saying, but when I say it you all think I'm horrible and I stink, lol. At Uni our rooms are air conditioned, they have to be otherwise the machines would overheat, so I don't even need to "wear" deoderant really, but I do.
